Dr. Malik attained her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) at the University of Delhi-Maulana Azad Medical College, in New Delhi, India. She completed her Residency training in Internal Medicine her in Birmingham, at U.A.B., then completed a Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Rheumatology, and a welcome addition to SWC.
Dr. Osburne's fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism was at the National Naval Center, now known as Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He performed recertification by the ABMS in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology in June 2010. He was a member of SWC earlier in his career, and left us only when the pursuit of additional interests in healthcare management took him out of our state. We are glad to have him back in Birmingham once again.
Dr. Townes joins us from St. Vincent's East in Birmingham. Her areas of interest include women's health, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and osteoporosis, but her first love includes diabetes management including insulin pumps. She practices the full spectrum of Endocrinology. She is bilingual in Spanish which she began studying in high school.
